2,500 Attend Union County Alliance
Public Safety Day in Warinanco Park
The Union
County Alliance Public Safety Task Force, which is
chaired by Union County Sheriff Ralph Froehlich, has
been hard at work to raise public safety awareness
within Union County. Building on the Union County
Alliance's successful Public Safety Roundtable, the
Alliance remains committed to addressing public safety
issues in Union County and creating a safer community in
which to live and work.

Continuing its efforts to develop a
comprehensive Public Safety Education Campaign,
the Task Force sponsored this year’s Public
Safety Day in conjunction with the Union County
Board of Chosen Freeholders on Saturday, June
26, 2004 from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at
Warinanco Park. Public Safety Day was both
informative and entertaining, featuring the
D.A.R.E. unit; a demonstration by the Union
County Canine Unit, fire prevention
demonstration house and apparatus; and numerous
other security and safety prevention
exhibits.
More than 2,500 people attended the event throughout the afternoon. The Alliance held a free raffle off 10 children's bicycles and helmets to youths who participated in the fingerprinting program. Alliance Chairman Edward Zarnock said "This event will incorporate the Alliance's past efforts to bring all safety units in Union County together to increase efficiency and effectiveness in providing services to Union County's residents." |

Froehlich, chairman of the Union County Alliance's Public Safety Task Force. “We are addressing the problem of youth violence and ultimately increasing the availability of services to the families in Union County." |

Union County Freeholder Daniel P. Sullivan said, “This event is designed to educate the public on the many issues facing our emergency management and law enforcement professionals and how they handle each situation.
